Isolated

Isolated is the newest version of Webdashboard that is ideal for organisations/people who already have either Power BI Premium/Pro and would like to keep this environment, but still want the unique extras Webdashboard has to offer. As the saying goes; it’s the best of both worlds.

Setting up the Isolated version is a little less intuitive compared to ‘Standard’ Webdashboard. To put it simple, we’ll need more information from your existing environment, because in standard we setup your environment on the fly, but now you Isolated.
But not to worry, it is described in detail when you start your sign-up for Isolated. It’s also described when you click the (i) icon on the button and on the new feature page.
When you’ve connected everything, you’re ready to start using Webdashboard. No need to reupload your existing reports, they are immediately available in Webdashboard. Sorted by reportname or Power BI Workspace. Just select where you would like to show them.
There are three main differences between Power BI and Webdashboard Isolated where Webdashboard offers a different solution:

  • Security
Access to reports (even with Row Level Security and embedding) is limited by the type of Power BI license you use. Everyone working internally in your company (through AzureAD) or externally (a valid E-mail address) can access a report with the same security settings.
  • Structuring
Workspaces in Power BI are mostly chosen for technical convenience and not for logical grouping of reports for a specific group of users. Webdashboard gives you the possibility to do just that and create a Dashboard with visuals from different reports within that group to ensure the right people see the insights they need.
  • Branding
Power BI has limited branding options, which is less of a problem when you only use it in an internal environment. However, Webdashboard believes that branding and layout can really empower your insights, especially if your customers visit your portal to view reports as well!
