Breaking down walls in healthcare: how AZ Delta connects care teams with Webdashboard

How AZ Delta brought care teams together with Webdashboard
The Challenge
AZ Delta is a general hospital in Belgium running a clinical study on children with asthma. The goal? To follow these patients across different levels of care, from their GP to a regional hospital to a university hospital, all at the same time.
That sounds straightforward, but the reality was messy. Patient data was spread across different systems and hard to access. Doctors and care providers had no shared overview, which made collaboration across organisations genuinely difficult.
AZ Delta built a central database and developed a BI report to bring everything together. But then came the next problem: how do you share that report with care providers outside your own organisation, in a way that’s affordable, easy to set up, and secure? Especially when patient data can only be visible to the doctor actually treating that patient.
Why Webdashboard
That’s where Webdashboard came in. AZ Delta needed a way to publish their BI report through a web environment, without investing in expensive licences or complex infrastructure. Webdashboard offered exactly that, a straightforward, cost-effective solution that could be set up without a large internal tech team.
The Implementation
The rollout went smoothly. Webdashboard handled the technical side: connecting the BI report and making it accessible online. There were a few small hiccups around access and permissions, but nothing that slowed things down significantly.
What AZ Delta appreciated most was how easy it was to communicate with the Webdashboard team. Questions got answered quickly, issues were resolved without hassle, and the whole process moved at a good pace.
Logging in was simple, there were no technical barriers, and the built-in portal analytics gave the team an immediate overview of who was actually using the dashboard.
The Results
Since going live, care providers across different organisations and care lines are now working from the same data. That shared overview has made coordination easier and communication clearer.
Sharing the BI report with external partners is now both simple and straightforward, without any complex infrastructure in the background. It’s a big step forward for a hospital that relies on close collaboration across organisational boundaries.
The clinical study is still running, so the final numbers aren’t in yet. Those results are expected by the end of 2027.
In Their Own Words
“For me personally, the greatest added value is the smooth and direct collaboration. Communication was very efficient, which meant that questions and technical issues could be picked up and resolved quickly.”
— Margot Baes, AZ Delta
